BRIEF HISTORY

What is today known as Caregiver Concern Foundation Africa started in the late 80’s by the collective effort of young catholic seminarians led by Father Clement-Mary Ilechukwu. It metamorphosed from Queen of Angels Adoration Ministry to Hope of The less privileged, Africa, and now Caregiver Concern Foundation Africa.

Since the parish priest of Christ the King Catholic church (CKC) Eziagu, Enugu State, Nigeria fr. Ilechukwu was in the seminary, he had had the passion to care for the poor and needy in his homeland Enugu state, Nigeria. He formed the Queen of Angels Adoration Ministry in August 1989, using the platform to reach tens and hundreds of people, helping the less privileged and assisting those with spiritual needs by organizing series of deliverance prayer sessions to quell whatever spiritual bondages they might have had. From the donations and offerings given to this ministry, Fr. Clement formed a charity team which was overseeing even distribution of donated items to the needy in the townships. So the ministry graduated from being only a prayer meeting ground where people came for prayers and deliverance, to a charity home where food and other relief items are given to the hungry and poor, young and old. This charity wing of the Adoration ministry was later named Hope of the less privileged Africa and it operated for several years in this name until this day it is now called Caregiver Concern Foundation Africa.

Some functions of Caregiver Concern Foundation Africa:

  • Give formal education to school dropouts to continue their studies
  • Girl child education; Young girls whose parents refused to educate because they consider it a waste of money in training a female child in school who will be married to another man someday.
  • Provide vocational training to those who cannot afford formal education due to financial challenges.
  • Assisting the old by any means necessary with items like clean water, food and Medicare. Etc..
